His rehearsal got cut a little short.
Hugh Jackman redefined “scene cutting” after accidentally slicing his nose with a hat while rehearsing for his upcoming role in “The Music Man” on Broadway. The Australian movie star revealed the Oddjob-evoking mishap in an Instagram video posted Wednesday.
The uproarious clip starts off with Jackman, 53, who plays Harold Hill in the iconic musical’s revival, flipping a boater hat around while apparently practicing choreography for the show.
“‘So, um, people have been making a couple of comments to me, like, ‘Have you had another biopsy on your nose? What happened to your nose?’ ” the two-time Tony Award winner said before leaning into the camera and showing off his inadvertent schnoz job. “Well, the truth is, this thing is like a weapon, and it hit me literally in the face and sliced me on the nose.”
Jackman continued: “So, ‘The Music Man’ may well turn into that James Bond movie. What was that character? Oddjob? Yeah, someone give me a little meme of Oddjob.”
“The Prestige” star also posted a caption warning theater-goers “seated in the first 5 or 6 rows” to “be on the lookout for a flying boater.”
Although seemingly innocuous, Jackman’s injury alarmed viewers, who implored the dramatist to take better care of his handsome mug.
“Practice makes perfect, Hugh!” said one concerned fan. “But please protect that angel face of yours!”
Another wrote: “I’ll be sure to get ready to catch it then but please be careful. Your face is precious.”
“They really nerfed Wolverine’s healing powers RIP,” joked one social media comedian in reference to Jackman’s portrayal of the regenerating superhero in the “X-men” series.
“The Music Man” revival will open at the Winter Garden Theatre on Dec. 20. The production marks Jackman’s first appearance on Broadway since starring in “The River” in 2014.
