Chris Evans lifts off as Buzz Lightyear in ‘Toy Story’ spinoff trailer

“Lightyear” looks like it’s going to be out-of-this-world.

Pixar has released the first teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated “Toy Story” spin-off, with Chris Evans (“The Avengers,” “Captain America”) giving voice to title character Buzz Lightyear and set to land in cinemas next summer.

The animated flick will tell the origin story of the “real” space ranger, whose daring adventures inspired the action figure — famously voiced by Tim Allen and owned by a child named Andy in the original “Toy Story” films.

“Lightyear” is directed by Angus MacLane, who has been working with Pixar for more than two decades.

The new 90-second teaser doesn’t feature Evans’ pipes, so fans still don’t know how the Hollywood heartthrob will sound as the space jockey. However, the trailer appeared to show “Lightyear” will revolve around Buzz undertaking a dangerous outer space mission — to the franchise’s trademark “infinity and beyond.”

To the surprise of fans, it also reveals that the space ranger has a shock of brunette hair beneath his famous helmet.

“Lightyear” is scheduled for release on June 17, 2022.
